PCW(POTTERS CLAY WHITE)
A versatile, pale grey-firing (grey in reduction) stone ware body
with excellent throwing characteristics. Suits many all applications
(including raku firings because of a good thermal shock resistance).

range Cone 9-10 (1257-1282 degrees centigrade)

SC80
Very similar in most respects to PCW but slightly smoother in
texture. Very plastic and superbly suited to all domestic stoneware
applications. 80 mesh. Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when fired about

WHITE DOMESTICWARE (WDW)
A blend of 50% Nelson White and 50% SC80. A smooth clay with
excellent throwing, drying and firing characteristics. 80 mesh.
Drying shrinkage 6 %, total when fired 13-16%. Firing range Cone
8-10 (1247-1282 degrees centigrade).

LF18
A cream to pale-grey (darker grey in reduction) stoneware. An
excellent throwing clay. 50 mesh. Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when
fired about 17%. Firing range Cone 7-8 (1237-1247 degrees
centigrade)

No21
An attractive iron-rich stoneware, buff to light brown in colour
(darker in reduction). Good plasticity and workability. 50 mesh.
Drying shrinkage 6-9%, total when fired about 16%. Firing range Cone
7-8 (1237-1247 degrees centigrade)

COLLEGE STONEWARE
Cream to grey coloured. Excellent for throwing. 50 mesh. Drying

GB2
Easy throwing, versatile stoneware clay. Fires buff to grey in
oxidation, dark grey in reduction. Useful far all domesticware,
handbuilding and well suited to salt glazing.50 mesh. Drying
shrinkage 5-7%, total when fired about 16%. Firing range Cone 10-11
(1282-1293 degrees centigrade)

SC50
Identical in virtually all respects to SC80, but screened to 50
mesh. Good for larger pieces. 50 mesh. Drying shrinkage 5-7%, total
when fired about 15%. Firing range Cone 9-10 (1257-1282 degrees
centigrade)

RMK3
A fine textured, strong throwing clay, highly plastic, cream to fawn
colour. Suitable for all domesticware and raku. 80 mesh. Drying
shrinkage 7-9%, total when fired about 16%. Fires to Cone 10 (1282
degrees centigrade)

CB3-G
A version of GB2 with 10% Huntly grog (10 mesh) added to assist
handbuilding. Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when fired about 15%.

SLAB 30
A 30 mesh (coarser version of SC50 with even further enhanced
strength and low shrinkage characteristics. Drying shrinkage about
5%, total when fired 12-15%. Firing range Cone 10-11

SLAB
A naturally grogged, white to grey firing stoneware with excellent
green strength and low shrinkage. The natural coarse sand fraction
contains feldspar crystals which, when fired, project above the
ceramic surface, giving the piece a remarkable texture. 8 mesh.
(minus 2mm). Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when fired about 14%.

MODELLING CLAY (no picture available)
A mixture of earthenware and stoneware suitable for beginners, schools and
recreational potters. 50-80 mesh. Firing variable. Shrinking variable.

NELSON RAKU (GROGGED)
Thermal-shock resistant buff coloured clay containing 20% 10-mesh
(1.9mm) white grog. Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when fired about
14%. Firing range Cone 06-6 (995-1228 degrees centigrade)

LFR (LOW FIRE RED)
A deep red coloured terracotta body, exceptionally plastic and
workable. 50 mesh. Drying shrinkage 8-10%, total when fired 15-17%.
Firing range Cone 04-3 (1060-1152 degrees centigrade)

NELSON RED
A rich red coloured terracotta body with exceptionally low shrinkage
and optimal workability for all applications. 50 mesh Drying
shrinkage 5-7%, total when fired about 13% Firing range Cone 1-5
(1136- 1184 degrees centigrade) depending on desired colour.

PCR
A medium red terracotta clay suitable for throwing and hand
building. 50 mesh Drying shrinkage 7-9%, total when fired about 15%.
Firing range Cone 1-5 (1136-1184).

E2
A fine-grained medium, red terracotta clay with a dense silky
texture. 80 mesh. Drying shrinkage 7-9%, total when fired about 15%.

RKF
A pale buff-pink earthenware clay suitable for throwing and

White Clays

NELSON WHITE
A pure white earthenware to porcellaneous stoneware body.
Significantly more plastic than porcelain. Suitable for small to
large thrown pieces. Very fine and smooth. 200 mesh. Drying
shrinkage 5-6%, total when fired about 15% (Cone 3) and 16% (Cone
10). Recommended firing range Cone 6-10 (1228-1282 degrees
centigrade)

MID FIRE WHITE
Has the best qualities of Nelson White, but a significantly lower
maturing temperature. 200 mesh. Drying shrinkage 5-6%, total when
fired about 15%. Firing range Cone 2-6 (1142-1228 degrees
centigrade)

ULTRA VITRETOUS
A special purpose white earthenware to vitreous china body for
throwing, with durability of high-fired porcelain. 200 mesh. Drying
shrinkage 5-7%, total when fired 14-17%. Firing range Cone 03-1
(1085-1136 degrees centigrade). Fully mature at 1136

TILE BODY
A white body designed to minimise wrapping ( not suitable for
throwing). Good for jigge-jolleying or ram processing. 200 mesh.
Drying 5%, total when fired 12%. Firing range Cone (1136-1184
degrees centigrade)

R2 (Ram 2)
A pure white body especially designed for ram pressing, but also
has proven to be an exceptional throwing body. Good for larger work
where low shrinkage and extra resistance to drying stresses is
required. 200 mesh. Drying Shrinkage 5%, total when fired 12-14%.
Firing range Cone 2-6 (1142-1228 degrees centigrade)

WHITE DOMESTICWARE (WDW)
A blend of 50 % Nelson White and 50% SC80. A smooth clay with
excellent throwing, drying and firing characteristics. 80 mesh.
Drying shrinkage 6%, total when fired 13-16%. Firing range Cone 7-10
(1240-1305 degrees centigrade)
WHITE MODELLING
Pure white plastic modelling clay 200 mesh and economical. Suitable
for schools, art studios etc. If fired should be only take n to 1150˚C
as it may contain low-fire clays. 200 mesh. Drying shrinkage 5%,
total when fired 12-16%. Firing range; up to 1150˚C |
